Quit Smoking After You Got Coverage?

As more and more of our clients are joining the select group of people that throw away their cigarettes and, more importantly stays away from them for at least a year, we have the pleasure of going back to the insurance companies to try and negotiate non-smoker rates on renewal.

If you have given up smoking in the past year you need to bear in mind that many insurance companies will allow conversion to non-smoker rates which can lead to dramatic premium savings.

2005 WRAP-UP / INSURANCE: Thais slowly warm up to life coverage

No more than 16% of country’s population hold policies. Although the insurance industry is expected to have grown 10.69 per cent to Bt255.25 billion in total premiums in 2005, its role has yet to make a big impact on the market. Legal infrastructure for insurance was first implemented in 1911, but even with 25 active life-insurers, still only 16 per cent of the country’s 65 million people have taken out a life-insurance policy.
